About Johannes Zacharias Wittenborn
Posted on Facebook on 6 October 2015. I found this newspaper article last week. It is dated Monday 2 March 1807. In a nutshell it tells the story of my ancestor Johann Martin Wittenborn's brother, Johannes Zacharias, who went abroad - to Grave in Holland in 1743 as I found out a few days later - made a small fortune (100 Reichthaler, worth some 10.000 euros today), gave it to his brother in Kassel on 23 September 1766, and never returned to Kassel after that day. Johann Martin's heirs, who must have been his living children, the brothers Anton and my ancestor Johannes Weisenborn, claimed the money in 1807.
